Leslie Odom Jr. Shares His Hamilton Experience, Including His Secret On-Stage Hiding Place

The Today Show kicked off its revamped Sunday show on April 17, and the schedule was wide enough to include a visit to the hottest ticket on Broadway. Willie Geist sat down with Hamilton star Leslie Odom Jr., who takes on the role of Aaron Burr in the blockbuster musical. The star showed Geist the backstage halls and wings, including his hidden spot on stage where he can spy on the audience (so be on your best behavior when you’re in the room where it happens). Odom calls the whole experience “exciting, wonderful, trying” and “challenging,” but he also has is eyes on the future: “Now what I’m looking forward to is the opportunity to take a step back and learn.” Until he takes that step (he’s currently scheduled to leave this summer), catch him at the Richard Rodgers Theatre.
